About this sound

The recording behind this vacuum sound

The source is Vacuuming, sound 722, by Joseph SARDIN, published by BigSoundBank under CC0. This player uses a local excerpt of the running motor, with the appliance’s starts, stops and speed changes excluded.

The excerpt was converted to mono, peak-shaped, crossfaded and digitally level matched. It repeats as a 16.5-second loop. Digital processing does not tell us the sound pressure reaching a child.

Vacuum, fan or hair dryer?

The vacuum recording has its own continuous motor texture. The fan is a generated hum, while the hair dryer is another appliance recording with a different balance of motor and air.

Try each separately. A preference for a motor sound is not proof of a sleep benefit, and this player is not a treatment for colic or persistent crying.

Do I need to run a vacuum near the baby?

No. The page plays a recording through the output you choose. It does not need the original appliance to be on, and a playback control does not certify a safe volume.

Keep the device and cables out of the sleep space. Check which speaker is active after Bluetooth changes and stop if the sound is unwelcome.

Can it play for a short session?

Yes. Choose the timer while paused, then press Play. It starts the countdown with the audio and fades out without an alert. Pause is available before the timer ends.

Screen lock, calls or another app may interrupt this browser player. It does not guarantee all-night playback or listen for the baby.
