How to Use WhiteNoiseForKids

A guide to the controls: prepare a sound, review volume and timer, then start it yourself.

Choose a sound and listen

  • On the main mixer, clicking a sound icon, raising its level or choosing a prepared mix starts listening. Play resumes the selected combination after a pause. Focused sound pages prepare their choices silently until you press Play.
  • White, pink and brown are alternative colors of one noise layer. Use Noise type to choose the color and the Noise icon to turn that layer on or off. Other sound icons toggle their own layers; up to three can be selected.
  • Adjust Volume and individual sound levels. A sound at 0% remains selected but is silent.
  • Use Timer on the main mixer or Sleep timer on a focused player to choose a duration. First use loads only the selected sounds.

Pause and timer expiry

Pause keeps your chosen sounds and a running timer’s deadline. Resume requires another explicit gesture. Pause also cancels pending playback starts. Choose Off in the timer to cancel its automatic end.

The timer starts with the first sounding voice and fades out over its final seconds. It finishes without an alarm. Opening a different page or reloading stops playback; the new page opens paused at the initial main volume.

Save and share

Use Save on the main mixer to store a short label and the current combination on this device. My mixes lets you open, rename or delete saved combinations. Update mix in the Save dialog replaces an opened mix’s sounds or label. Delete has an Undo option for the latest deletion while this page stays open.

Share opens a dialog with a Share link and Copy link. The link contains only sound IDs, levels and a noise color; timer, main volume and label are excluded. The recipient must press Play. The link is not uploaded to an account.

Scenery, Drift and browser limits

Scenery motion pauses the animated background. Drift gently varies active layer levels while sound plays; it does not change the selected sounds or the main volume. Neither control locks the player.

The first audio load needs a network connection. Background playback can be interrupted by the browser or operating system. This page does not request a microphone or notifications, record a child or promise offline or uninterrupted overnight playback.
